SPECIFIC VOTER INFORMATION

PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY, 5 FEB 08:  The register by mail postmark deadline is Monday Jan 7.  You can still register in person at the clerk's office until Jan 29.

For the most flexibility, people should reregister as unaffiliated if they are undecided. Then they can vote in the Democratic primary (without affiliating with the Democrats) or in the Republican primary (if they are willing to affiliate with Republicans at the polls) on February 5.  However, if you are registered as a Republican or Constitution Party member, you will not be allowed to vote a Democrat ballot. (This is different from the rules by which the Democrats conduct their local primaries. They have allowed anyone to vote in the June primaries regardless of party affiliation. Because this primary is conducted
according to their national party rules, it is different.)

Voters who already know which party they want to vote for and who are registered with that party, of course, don't need to worry about re-registering.
