| 1) If elected, what would be your top priorities if elected to office? My priorities will be to encourage the highest quality education possible. I will work to include academic and character education standards and an education that will provide opportunities for students and teachers to learn and grow in the safest school environment possible. 2)How can your school district address the issue of safety and staff? School safety is a must. Teachers and students must feel safe before they can teach and learn effectively. I will encourage a continuation of safe school practices currently in place, including keeping a police officer in the Jr. and Sr. High schools and continued to look at ways to increase security in all of the schools. 3) What ideas do you have for addressing the issue of shrinking financial resources and growing student population in some areas? Finances will always be an issue in the public schools. The administration and the school board have the responsibility to spend the allocated money wisely and for the most effective use of the funds available. It can be done with responsible spending and planning for the present and the future. 4) What kind of public disclosure of school district operating and capital expenses do you favor? I favor giving each child the best opportunity possible to succeed by providing them with the facilities, technology, textbooks and teachers that funding will allow. This would include listening to the imput of community, parents, teachers and students and making a decision based on the input and funds available. |
