1) If elected, what would be your top priority?

My top priority is to ensure accountability in all aspects. I will be responsible for maintaining that check and balances are intact. I want to promote and encourage voter registration and voter turn out. Educating the voters and giving the voters what they need to make a good choice, will be a priority as well.

2) What are your qualifications for this elected position?

Honest, Integrity & Accountability. Having multiple certifications doesn’t ensure excellent public service. I will treat this office with respect and be the best public servant. I have worked in accounting for 26 years and have been in several management positions from a clerk to Comptroller. I know what needs to be done to create a highly motivated staff in working together for the public.

3) Are there any changes in policy or procedure that you would make in this elected office? If so what are they?

Full time commitment to public service. I would review current policies and procedures and implement all the necessary changes to ensure the office is doing all it can for Weber County residents as well as conforming to good accounting procedures. Changes could occur depending on what is good for the public.

4) What ideas do you have for streamlining expenditures in the office’s budget?

Being in the accounting field, I have the experience necessary to evaluate the current expenditures and if needed put them out for bid for supplies and services depending on best price. I will oversee current expenditures and evaluate better ways to save money. I will review current county vehicle expenses. I intend to pursue the consolidation where it is most beneficial and better utilize county services..

1) If elected, what would be your top priority be?

Using my experience as Weber County's Internal Auditor and Comptroller, I will provide a “hands on” approach in monitoring Weber County's budget of over $100,000,000. I acknowledge the Clerk/Auditor's position of trust in overseeing the accountability of taxpayers' funds. I will not delegate this responsibility to staff.

2) What are your qualifications for this elected position?

o 24 years as a licensed Certified Public Accountant
o 11 years service in Weber County Clerk/Auditor's office as Chief Deputy and County Comptroller
o 3 years as Weber County Internal Auditor
o Responsible for obtaining the prestigious Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for 10 consecutive years

3) Are there any changes in policy or procedure that you would make in this elected office? If so what are they?

o I will promote better relations and open communication with other county offices.
o I will be available to discuss financial, tax, election, and other related issues directly with citizens.
o I will reduce voter confusion at the polls by providing extensive election judge training and promoting public awareness of election procedures.

4) What ideas do you have for streamlining expenditures in the office’s budget?

As a licensed CPA and experienced auditor, I will be a “hands on” official. Through my active involvement, many reductions will be available in the auditing/accounting department of the office. I also will work with the Weber County Information Technology department in utilizing new technology in elections.
